A list of suggested items will be available at the next meeting, and also at Republican Headquarters. Come and join us in this effort.  You can drop off items at GOP headquarters, if you’d like to participate.  Be sure to leave your name and phone number, so we can say “thank you”!

RWCC PACHYDERM PROJECT

One of the first RWCC community service projects was our “Pachyderm Project,” where we gathered items for the Healthy Families Domestic Violence Program. Very often when a woman or children need to escape a dangerous residence, they flee unprepared, so we put together bags of items including towels, shampoo, toothbrushes, and much more. Some contained toys for children.

Here, Sue Forde (a former RWCC president) presented the packages to Rebecca Korby (Becca), Program Manager for Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault at Healthy Families. Chairwoman of the project was BJ Paton, who with the help of Mary Robuck, put the packages together after all the donations were made.
