Our very first “Proud to be an American” special event held on August 31, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club in Sequim, WA featured Hollywood Producer/Director Jonathan Hay (Senior producer of the Ben Shapiro Show) and Hannah Fritz, newly appointed Special Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Labor serving in the Trump Administration were our guest speakers.
Both Jonathan and Hannah are from Sequim. Jonathan spoke about his beginnings and career in Hollywood, and shared some stories about his experiences. He talked about some experiences while working on American Idol. He has worked on “So You Think You Can Dance” earlier in his career, and is now Senior Producer for Prager U video for the Daily Wire, and has most recently directed “Apollo 11: What We Saw”.
Hannah talked about her career path, past and present, and both offered great insights and inspirational tips to the approximate 300 attendees.
Melannie Jackson performed a rousing “Proud to be an American” and closed with “God Bless America”, with the crowd joining in on both songs.
Sue Forde, Chair of the Clallam Republican Party, opened the event with a welcome, then introduced David Lotzgesell, who emceed the evening’s event.
It was an exciting and uplifting event, offering hope for the future, and encouragement to get involved, especially to the many young people in attendance.
The event was co-sponsored by the the Republican Women of Clallam County, Clallam County Republican Party, and the newly forming Young Republicans of Clallam County. A special “thank you” to the volunteers who made this a terrific event!
